IV Infusions

IV infusions deliver fluids and nutrients directly into the bloodstream through a small cannula, administered by a registered nurse in our clinic. At WK Skin & Laser Clinic, IV infusions are offered as a wellness service, not a medical treatment for illness or disease. A short health check is carried out first to confirm the infusion is suitable for you.

Available formulations

Glutathione infusion: glutathione is a naturally occurring antioxidant. This infusion is offered as a wellness service and is chosen by some clients as part of a general skin and wellness routine. It may be combined with vitamin C.

What to expect

Your appointment begins with a short health check where our registered nurse reviews your health history and confirms the infusion is appropriate for you. A small cannula is placed in your arm and the infusion is given slowly while you relax, usually taking around 45 minutes.

Safety and suitability

IV infusions are generally well tolerated when administered by a qualified professional in a clinical setting. Temporary effects such as mild bruising, tenderness at the cannula site or light-headedness can occur and are usually short-lived. Rarer reactions are possible, which is why every infusion is nurse-administered under strict hygiene and safety protocols. IV infusions are not suitable for everyone; suitability is assessed at your health check, and we recommend speaking with your GP about any specific health concerns.

Downtime

No downtime. Most clients return to their day straight away. If you bruise easily, a small bruise at the cannula site may last a few days.

Important note

Glutathione IV therapy is not approved by the TGA as a therapeutic treatment and is offered as an optional wellness service. Individual results vary and are not guaranteed.

Price

Pricing is discussed at your consultation. Please contact the clinic or book a consultation to discuss the infusion and associated costs.

Please note: Suitability for a Vitamin D3 infusion is determined after review of blood test results and consultation. A current blood test is required prior to treatment. If needed, our registered nurses can provide a pathology request form to assess your vitamin D levels before recommending appropriate management.
